Plan Your Visit
By Air
Denver (DEN) — About a 4-hour drive. Rent a car or hire a private driver. Private transportation from Denver runs around $1,500 one-way.
Eagle/Vail (EGE) or Grand Junction (GJT) — Closer than Denver with more direct flights from more markets. Only 1.5 and 2.5 hours away respectively. Rent a car or hire a car service for the scenic drive in.
Aspen/Pitkin County Airport (ASE) — Closed summer 2027 — Aspen does have a local airport just 4 miles from town, but it is expected to be closed during the summer of 2027. Please plan to fly into Denver, Eagle/Vail, or Grand Junction instead.
By Car
The Easy Route
Head west from Denver on I-70 to Glenwood Springs, through the magnificent Glenwood Canyon. Turn south onto Hwy 82 — it goes straight into Aspen.
The Scenic Route
Head west on I-70 to Hwy 91 toward Independence Pass. Wind through Leadville, then turn south on Hwy 82 for a stunning high-mountain drive into East Aspen. Plug in your accommodations before leaving Leadville.
